Using the steps above will actually lead to a broken ICS connection,
probably; because ICS doesn't seem to work well with IPv6 (and either
way, dnsmasq can't provide v6 addresses). As a further step, make sure
you go to the IPv6 tab as well and set IPv6 method to "Ignore", I think
this will resolve the issue in most cases on 11.10.

Wired ICS constantly reconnecting

Bug description:
I often find myself using my laptop to supply internet connection to my other
computer which does not have a wireless interface.
When I use Ubuntu 11.10 for this it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting
frantically and constantly.
The wired connection is set to "Shared to other computers". Have seen this
issue on at least one other machine besides mine so far.
