Title:
[broadcomm] icon behaviour varies by connection
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: network-manager
[further to bug #649632]
At home I have a D-link router, and when I am connected the icon shows
no signal strength and a red pling. The network connection is by WPA-
PSK
I am currently in an hotel, and the icon shows 4 out of five bars
(segments) and no pling. The SSID is 'linksys' but the hotel staff
cannot describe the infrastructure at all. The connection is
unsecured.
I am really surprised that the icon behaviour varies like this, and thought
you would like to know. According to the 'about' box I am still running
version 0.8
