Thanks to everyone who reported this bug. However, Ubuntu Software
Center has changed a lot since these bug reports. In particular, the
stacktraces involve GTK2, but USC has since switched to GTK3. So it's
quite likely that the bug doesn't exist any more, and even if it has,
these reports won't help us find it. If you experience a similar problem
in USC 5.0 or later, please report it separately. Thanks!

Title:
software-center crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke()

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: software-center

I was trying to install Midori, and then went to install GNOME
Activity Journal. The installation of Midori hung on "Applying
Changes", and GNOME Activity Journal didn't install either. I had to
force close the program, which caused this.
