This is still present in evolution 3.2.2 on oneric. The reason it doesn't show up in other peoples testing is, I believe, because it requires that the index files that evolution uses to speed the searches need to be out of date with the actual mail. I have no idea what causes this to happen, but, as noted in the original report, it means that I can do a simple, one word, subject search and have it return no results, even when I can clearly see the mails I would have expected it to return in the folder view.
I assume there's some file I can remove to make evolution re-build the index.. maybe if I can find that I can at least document the workaround. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/746663 Title: search messages function doesn't work properly Status in “evolution” package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: Binary package hint: evolution The search function doesn't find the text of messages properly. Even if I do copy the text from the body of the message and paste it in the search field, evolution is not able to find. I am using Evolution 2.32.2 and Ubuntu Natty, both up to date.
