  brightness applet crashing after upgrade

Bug description:
  The brightness applet crashes out .. i just start it using the "Add to
  panel" of the menu bar . It gets added with no problem but as soon as
  i try to reduce the brightness using the slider the slider vanishes
  ... i was i have upgraded to ubuntu 10.04 from its version 9.04 ..
  that applet had no problems in its  9.04 version but now its not
  working in this version ... PLz  have a look ... Thank You.
