Title:
  gimp-2.6 crashed with SIGSEGV in g_utf8_normalize()

Status in “gimp” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  gimp often crashes when I save a file. Seems to be
  format independent, although I usually stick with .{jpg,gif,png} .
  It usually saves the file, thank goodness, then crashes.
  Also, not that I use gimp a lot, the crashes have followed me
  through several Ubuntu releases. A few years worth, I suppose.

  I have the /var/crash/blah_blah_path_gimp file.

  I saved the file as /tmp/pix.png

  $ gimp /tmp/{cake.png,kiss.jpg}

  (gimp:550): GLib-WARNING **:
  /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.30.0/./glib/goption.c:2168: ignoring no-arg,
