But in Thunderbird it is very difficult (for average user nearly impossible) to attach a link to an text area in a new mail. All mail clients I know (except for Thunderbird) allow the user to hilight text and then click a button to add a link location easily. Thunderbird user have currently three posibilities to add a link to a text area: - Insert Menu > Link... = to hidden - CTRL + L = not average user friendly - The 'media' icon in the compose message window = difficult to recognize immediately button functionality → to hidden Plus, the upcoming 'Link Properties' window is too confusing – UI is unnessesary complicate/cluttered. Long story short: Thunderbird needs an easy way to add a link to an text block. Current implementation is not usable for average users. Ubuntu is used by millions of people, it can't be that adding links in the default mail client is that complicated.
