Title:
gnome-settings-daemon crashed when clicking on dash home from Live CD
  in VirtualBox

Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I downloaded Ubuntu 12.04 Beta 2 (64-bit) and ran it inside VirtualBox
on my Ubuntu 11.10 laptop. (Thus, gnome-settings-daemon is
  3.3.92-0ubuntu2.)

  What happened:

  1. I start up the virtual machine with the Ubuntu Live CD ISO, electing to
try Ubuntu.
  2. I click on dash button on launcher. (A natural first step.)
  3. Apport appears, complaining of an internal error.
  4. Dash opens, blank except for the search box (not sure if that's by design
or not; it all seemed to work properly). I close it again as now I'm not
interested in it, and file this bug report!
