Even if I sort by dates to select a file, and just a second after I
reopen the Gtkfilechooser window, sorting preference is disabled and by
default on alphabetical name.

Title:
Gtkfilechooser does not remember sorting choice of files for Firefox,
  Thunderbird, LibreOffice...

Status in “gtk+3.0” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Hello,

It seems that for certain programs - non-GTK ones ? It happens for
Firefox, Thunderbird, Libre Office, Videolan - Gtkfilechooser does not
remember the choice I make for the sorting type of files in the
  window.

For example, when I want to open a file in an application, or join a
document to a mail, if I click on "Open" or "Attach" menu, it runs a
Gtkfilechooser window with the file managers shortcuts and files
  available in folders.

I like to have the documents sorted from modification date, the most
recent in top of the window.

For most programs, choice is "saved" by Ubuntu and the next time
documents are well sorted by recent dates.

But with Firefox, Thunderbird, Libre Office, Videolan, always the
  sorting re-goes to "name"...
