Thank you for your bug report, but it's a theme feature added to the
GNOME theme and the Ubuntu one, it's supposed to help users to see what
has the focus and what is in the background

Title:
GTK dialog boxes disable text and buttons when they lose focus, and
they shouldn't
Status in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
(I apologize if gtk+3.0 is the wrong package; it was a guess.)
I'm using Gnome Shell under Ubuntu 12.04. I observe that system
dialog boxes disable their text and buttons when the dialog loses
focus, and re-enable them when the dialog regains focus. This is new
behavior in 12.04 (cropping up sometime during the beta period) and I
suspect it is not intentional.
To reproduce, run the following command from the shell:
% zenity --info --title=Foo --text=Bar
Initially the text control ("Foo") and the button control ("OK") are
both rendered in black. Now give the focus to any other window.
Notice how the text and button controls are both disabled (turn gray)
when the dialog loses focus. If you click on the dialog box it re-
enables the text and button controls. This is poor UI--the UI should
be stable under the user's feet.
Note that this is not just a Zenity bug; I see the same behavior with
the force-close-this-unresponsive-program? dialog displayed by the
shell.
I don't see how to mark this sort of metadata, but obviously this bug
is low priority and appearance-only. It does not affect the usability
of Ubuntu.
