Aw man... If only I had seen this bug report sooner, that would have saved me a hell of a lot of frustration. See #824466.
So I guess it's too late now to add the presenter console to the desktop-p-default-apps blueprint, right? If not, I would happily join the discussion and provide reasons why we should. If it is too late, what is the name of the package to install to get the presenter console back? I've been searching in SC on a 12.04 beta2 live environment and was not able to find anything. ** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798299 Title: libreoffice should ship by default with the presenter console Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu: Opinion Status in “ubuntu-meta” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Binary package hint: libreoffice When Ubuntu is installed LibreOffice is installed as well. Unfortunately the presenter console plugin in is not installed. This plug in is, according to the LibreOffice team, a part of LibreOffice and it does ship as part of the install file for the other platforms (Windows and Mac OS). This is a basic feature that isn't present by default in the Ubuntu installation. Normal users have no way to install it since they are not aware (or made aware by Ubuntu) of it's existence.
