Just a note to say that the open drivers site is progressing with more
content and the wiki format provides a way to document your favorite
drivers.

An example of useful developer information regarding writing drivers,
submitting patches, and understanding the driver model is found in the
documentation section.  See outline below.

1. Linux Open Source Community Background Information
              * 1.1 Linux Open Source Drivers for Newbies
              * 1.2 The Non-Technical Process and Procedures of Linux
                Kernel Development
      * 2. Submitting Code to the Open Source Community
              * 2.1 Linux Kernel Coding Style
              * 2.2 How to Create a Kernel Patch
              * 2.3 The Perfect Patch
              * 2.4 Linux Kernel Patch Submission Format
              * 2.5 Kernel Newbies Wiki
              * 2.6 Linux Kernel Development: Getting Started
      * 3. Writing/Porting Device Drivers
              * 3.1 Developing Open Source Drivers
              * 3.2 Writing Portable Device Drivers

              * 3.4 How NOT to Write a Kernel Driver
              * 3.5 The Kernel and Device Drivers: Do's and Don'ts

Hi all,

Just a brief update with the progress of the project/site:

http://developer.osdl.org/dev/opendrivers/

1) The wiki design changes are done and the wiki site is starting to
resemble the original website nicely:

http://developer.osdl.org/dev/opendrivers/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

We've redirected the original website's navigational links to the wiki
so that everyone can now directly contribute content if they like.

2) We're in the process of physically writing down our project roadmap.
Until now it's just been mentally jotted down in a few individuals
heads. Lots of ideas and input have been brought to our attention (ex
testing, legal, education - for both developer and program manager
types. . . ). Creating a document to map out where we're heading not
only helps keep the project on track, but also gives insight to others
wanting to provide further input or contribution.

3) The Driver Matrix framework is still on our priority list - just need
to find a few extra cycles.

4) There is also talks about hardware donations and driver testing that
is in the early stages of coming together. We'll keep you posted as
things progress.

Thanks.
