Yes it does. Just use the CMake build and it works fine; I built the
latest 1.5 with no problems. Haven't tried 2.0 or 1.6, but I don't
expect any issues there, either.

Absolutely right (as usual :) ). Should have thought about that path. 
Was just too stuck on the instructions from the README file (since the 
README.cmake is still marked as experimental).
