Thanks for feedback, it's very useful. We're planning to increase (or, actually
uncomment [this
line|https://github.com/apache/couchdb/blob/master/etc/couchdb/default.ini.tpl.in#L52]
) the buffers for upcoming 1.6.0 release.
We suspect the issue in code because the issue suddenly been solved for OSX
(but only for) after applying multipart parser improvements. But I feel that's
the question for deeper debugging.
However, the older releases are also affected to this issue (slowing down
replication of large docs/atts), so uncommenting this line is the most portable
and universal solution for speedup process for all.
