You're right this attribute seems to be sent from Studio.
I've found traces of it in this class in Studio :
ldapbrowser.core/src/main/java/org/apache/directory/studio/ldapbrowser/core/model/IRootDSE.java
You did not managed to reproduce the error while using Studio ?
