There are some advantages and disadvantages.

Personally, I find multiple JIRA modules to be overwhelming and I think it's
just an unnecessary complication which a user would have to figure out in
order to submit a bug report or feature request.

Additionally, it makes reporting a nightmare unless someone knows how to run
a JIRA report for a Category.  Otherwise you need a separate report for each
JIRA project.

Finally, however we set up JIRA, IMHO there should be some sort of
correlation with SVN.  I'm still very much an SVN newbie, but my
understanding is that each versionable project should have its own 'trunk',
but that may be better explained by someone like Noel or Fitz.
