Ant or maven?

Right now, we have an ant-1.6-based customized build system in place
that works to some extent, and a maven-1.0-RC1-based customized build
system in place that also works to some extent (neither is currently
fully set up to my satisfaction). Next to this we have an unused
gump+ant customized ant build system (the gump-build.xml files) that is
currently unused.
One can debate for eons about the pros and cons of a buildsystem choice
(and many have), and not reach a conclusion. Let's not.
allow me just a note (not a debate :-): maven-1.0-rc3 is latest release
and 1.0 release is imminent.
