Wow.  I think I want *that* build system -- cheesy groovy lisp.

As to the actual release tools, it doesn't matter to me.  Having consistency
between build and release tools via maven would be nice, but in the end use
whatever works.  We can always change and adjust in the future.

A related random thought: on the one hand it bugs me that with all of the
developers here in the ASF we don't already have slick tools and scripts
ready for release management and thus everyone does their own thing.  On the
other hand tools that try to fulfill everyone's needs tend to not fill
anyone's needs so the lack of such tools isn't too surprising.
