Just had a plugin fail to install because the serial version of
ConfigurationAwareReference didn't match. Needless to say we want to avoid
problems causing plugins to fail to install on slightly newer Geroinmo
platforms wherever possible. Maybe we should look at related code for missing
UIDs while we're in there.
