I figures out the m2 howl build and created an upload request
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MAVENUPLOAD-930.
When this completes we can change the howl dependency to
<groupId>org.objectweb.howl</groupId>
<artifactId>howl-logger</artifactId>
<version>1.0.1-1</version>
Hopefully this will occur before 1.1 :-)
