David Jencks closed GERONIMO-3150.
----------------------------------
Resolution: Cannot Reproduce
Fix Version/s: 2.1
Assignee: David Jencks
I installed the roller plugin (<geronimo svn root>/plugins/roller/trunk) and
started it up which creates a database and a lot of tables and had no problems
seeing the tables in the dbmanager page. I think this problem was fixed a long
time ago. Please reopen with more details on how to reproduce if it is still a
problem in 2.1

> The below is a testcase to simulate the problem:
> Steps:
> Create a Derby database from DBManager
> Create a Derby database pool in Geronimo console
> Create a web app that uses DataSource/JNDI to connect to Derby
> I am able to reproduce the problem in 2 ways:
> 1.
> * Deploy the application and launch the web component that access the
> database
> * Run DBManager to do SQL operation on the same database
> * DBManager will report error - database booted by another instance
> 2.
> * Deploy the application and launch the web component that access the
> database without starting it
> * Run DBManager to do SQL operation on the same database
> * Launch the web app
> * Web app will report error - database booted by another instance
> Derby embedded should allow mutliple connections to a database from same JVM
> as documented in the Apache Derby website. But, appears that DBManager and
> webapplication cannot open connections at the same time. It is always first
> attempt wins.
