I'm confused by this. First, looks like this is only happening on Macs. I don't see any problems like these on Windows or Linux. I've made two changed related to JMX this week: 1) binding to a specific ip address, and 2) client socket time outs. But I don't see how either of these is causing this (by default JMX should be binding to 0.0.0.0 and have socket read timeouts of 5 mins). If somebody could try to see if disabling 1) or 2) helps that would be great. To disable 1) just modify GeronimoRMIServerSocketFactory.java in geronimo-kernel and drop two last arguments fo ServerSocket. To disable 2) modify GeronimoRMIClientSocketFactory in geronimo-kernel and remove call to setSoTimeout().
