Trent Rosenbaum commented on MNG-1267: -------------------------------------- I think when you compare this to another introduction, (for example the Introduction to the Build Lifecycle) there is scope to expand the document. At the bottom of the document there are some general descriptions, maybe these could be more visual in nature? Another example could show that some plugins generate extra folders under the target directory, (the maven-release plugin creates a checkout folder). One idea I was thinking about comes from the second paragragh - "The next section documents the directory layout expected by Maven and the directory layout created by Maven. Please try to conform to this structure as much as possible; however, if you can't these settings can be overridden via the project descriptor." Maybe the document could be expanded to show some simple examples of how the directory layout can be tailored through the pom.xml file? The document could be layed out to knock home the fact that this is a very robust project structure and is very flexible. Any thoughts on these ideas? > Complete the Introduction to the Standard Directory Layout > ---------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: MNG-1267 > URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNG-1267 > Project: Maven 2 > Type: Task > Components: documentation - introductions > Reporter: Srepfler Srgjan > Priority: Minor > > > The document page is there but it's empty -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
