Werner Keil commented on MNGECLIPSE-39: --------------------------------------- Eugene, That's what such comments and discussions are about. To think of ideas and what benefits/drawbacks could arise. No problem if you do not have to use the POM editor, but the whole point of it should be to help those users, not familiar with every single attribute of a pom and which are mandatory, etc. Experienced Java EE users might prefer their own XML editor (in Eclipse, or outside) anyway, but less experienced users might prefer an editor much alike various Wizards. I have seen some progress and enhancements in this Plug-in over Mevenide (ecpecially the dependency management within the Eclipse project) Like the Maven site, is it likely however, Codehaus might point to this plugin as the "Mevenide" for M2? I just did Maven & Eclipse sessions at JavaPolis pointing out, some other M1 Plugin (Maven Workshop) was even more complicated in some parts than Mevenide, and outlined, they could/should be merged. So especially in the Plug-in Matrix for M2 it would save confusion to see the "official" one for M2 pointed out. (of course you cannot keep others from creating "their" implementation, if they desire ;-) > POM editor > ---------- > > Key: MNGECLIPSE-39 > URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNGECLIPSE-39 > Project: Maven 2.x Plug-in for Eclipse > Type: New Feature > Components: POM Editor > Reporter: Eugene Kuleshov > Assignee: Eugene Kuleshov > Fix For: 1.0.0 > > > Form-based POM editor for the elements that are non-plugin related. These > will be fairly standard as the POM is not going to change that much over time. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
