Right, you should just be able to take any working project and make
an Archetype out of it. Now we will allow for some hinting plug in
values you want the user to be able to interpolate but this process
of creating archetypes from projects, verifying and deploying them is
key.
Soon it will all be possible and I'll do my best to make all the
combinations available as archetypes.
Here's a list of web frameworks and persistence frameworks supported:
* Web Frameworks: JSF (MyFaces), Spring MVC (with Ajax, Acegi
Security,
JSP, FreeMarker or Velocity), Stripes, Struts 1.x, Struts 2.x,
Tapestry,
WebWork, Wicket
* Persistence Frameworks: Hibernate, iBATIS, JDO (JPOX), OJB,

Right having to maintain the projects + maintain the archetypes is
not feasible.

Once the criteria of Archetype being dead simple to use it will be on
its way back. The goal is to create an Archetype from any project,
verify it, and deploy it on one simple step and we're almost there.
