On the testing side, I thought I'd follow the maven build procedure as described on the wiki, and have the following feedback:
The build takes a LONG time compared to the old ant method. For me, it took 24 minutes 55 seconds. This is to be expected, as maven does a lot of file transfers the first time around. However, the following frequently occuring message leads me to believe that we can speed things up:
[WARNING] Unable to get resource from repository apache-maven-snapshots (http://cvs.apache.org/maven-snapshot-repository)
This takes a while to timeout before it tries another location. I'm a maven-newbie, so perhaps one of our maven experts has some input on that one. If it is as simple as clearing some old info out of my local repository, I think we need to make that clear on the wiki.
I'll try the latest svn version on my local app now and see if anything breaks.

I have a three day weekend now. Are there areas we should focus on? Where does one obtain a copy of the TCK?
