a similar problem (corruption of XML structure)

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-250?jql=project%20%3D%20NETBEANS%20AND%20status%20in%20(Open%2C%20%22In%20Progress%22%2C%20Reopened%2C%20Resolved%2C%20Closed)%20AND%20text%20~%20%22maven%20pom%20dependency%22%20ORDER%20BY%20updated%20DESC

was traced into the XML modules:

https://github.com/apache/incubator-netbeans/pull/357/files

I'll look into this, but I'm currently occupied and focused on other projects,
so it won't happen right now.

Greetings

Matthias
