two minor branding regressions:
- The file
nb\ide.branding.kit\release\VERSION.txt
still say NetBeans 9
- The file
apisupport\apisupport.ant\src\org\netbeans\modules\apisupport\project\universe\HarnessVersion.java
has no Version "10.0".
I don't think these are blockers, but may be we should add these files
to the "what to do to create a release"-List.
Also the platform in the convenient binary displays itself as a "Dev"
version, which is OK for "normal" Jenkins builds. In my opinion the
Ant-Properties for "${buildnumber}" and "${buildnum}" should be set
explicitly for vote- and release candidates. e.g.
"-Dbuildnumber=20181105 -Dbuildnum=10.0-20181105"

How (and what) to try out the release:
1. Download the artifact to be voted on and unzip it.
2. Verify the cryptographic signatures, the NOTICE and LICENSE file
3. Build it using the README provided by the artifact.
4. Look in nbbuild/netbeans for the NetBeans installation created by
the build process.
If the above succeeds, i.e., Apache NetBeans installs and starts up
vote +1 in this thread.
