Hi Tom, Been chatting with Ed Capriolo and others regarding bringing Gossip [0] to the incubator. I think it would be an appropriate implementation for node discovery and availability within the distributed File Manager issue you have been describing recently. Maybe we should have a half day hackathon @ApacheCon to code this up? I think having a configuration-driven implementation of this out of the box in OODT would be dynamite. wdyt?
