Hi! If you are looking for a tool to support annotations and generics on Java 1.4 you might want to evaluate Retrotranslator (http://retrotranslator.sourceforge.net). It supports most Java 5 features on J2SE 1.4, e.g. it can run JAXB 2 that makes heavy use of reflection on generics and annotations.
