Resolution: Fixed
I've provided an alternate fix in
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=revision&revision=1604482, making sure to
touch the UI only when the known acceptable archetypes have changed. Based on
my limited testing, this works well enough.
Please reopen if you still find the refresh problematic.
