Phil Zhang commented on TIKA-1397:
----------------------------------
Hi Nick,
Thank you very much for responding to the ticket. I have couple of items i
would like to check with you if you can shed some light on it, that would be
great.
1. How does Tika determine whether or not a file contains timezone information?
Is there a value the Tika will be looking for?
2. If the file does contain the timezone, would Tika be able to manipulate the
timezone information by itself during the extraction, when the extraction
location is in the different time zone comparing to the creating location? Or
we would have to do customization on the output information to achieve that?
Thank you in advance.
Best Regards
Phil

> Currently, when Tika extract the metadata set from a file uploaded, the time
> stamps are set as UTC timezone. When a user from a specific TimeZone created
> the file the showed time stamps is not Timezone sensitive. Is it possible to
> make an improvement on Tika to be able to detect the timezone and then
> display the time stamps timezone sensitive?
