Thanks Tim. One thing you may want to consider are the following options (and
part of the paper I'm working on now):
# Apache OODT (runs Tika during extraction; separates file and metadata
management, interfaces with Solr) - I'm currently running this on a 40+M image
data set and hope to have results soon.
# Apache Solr (ExtractingRequestHandler) - will run Solr on the server side - I
am currently also running a HUGE OCR on 65K+ PDF files using Tika with this
configuration.
Will have both to report on in the SIGIR paper.
