I'm not sure I understand this uncertainty. Is it that you don't see the value of 1/ grouping modules in order to generate modules subsets, manifest jars, shaded jars or 2/ the specific groups that currently exist in features and shades or 3/ something else Note I'm assuming A/ that grouping modules using some mechanism is useful B/ that the technical differences between features and shades is unimportant in the context of this question. C/ that the outcome of this discussion will be one way of grouping modules regardless of what those groups might be.
