Only reason was because /stack/pom.xml references java-sdk-old module:
https://github.com/charleswhchan/incubator-usergrid/blob/patch-2/stack/pom.xml#L184
This was the only way I could compile the stack.
Perhaps the module is outdated and should be removed?
