Just tried again, but this time in a 32bit m1.medium EC2 instance with
7.5 GB of RAM:
$ wget
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/b2g/nightly/latest-mozilla-central/b2g-19.0a1.en-US.linux-i686.tar.bz2
$ tar xfj b2g-19.0a1.en-US.linux-i686.tar.bz2
$ cd b2g/
$ ./b2g
Result: It works!
So perhaps it was a memory issue, or the new nightly is just better, or
it worked by accident (i.e. maybe not the next time).
The m1.micro instance, on which I tried things originally, had just 613
MB of RAM.
Note that the instance that I mentioned in my recent post conerning
building B2G is a different m1.medium instance. It's 64bit.
