Dear all,

(Dev-gaia prevents me to send an attachment :/ So I use the FRESH google drive
account. Sorry if this is duplicated.)

We are having some bugs about how to set different audio stream types in
gaia/b2g.
(Main Bug: 796658: Audio Settings should be separated.)
Here is a proposal about the solution in gaia.

https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B0OE-RhDvDNvUW9kdEpDcERUSDA

Giving a quick overview, this proposal is trying to solve:
We should adjust the right volume when the user press hardware keys.
    ex, Not system volume but voice volume when in a call,
    Not system volume but alarm volume when alarm sounds,…

It also mentions an audio tag patch reviewing, which support audioStreamType.

@Josh, @lco, @casey, @patryk:
Need your UX/Visual feedback.
One more thing for UX that I didn't address in the slides is, GONK has
different count of segments and upper bounds for different audio channel/type.
For example, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=796658#c1 as Marco
said, voice channel has 5 segments,
but our UI is always having 10 segments.
There is a hardware restrict about this because voice chip? only accepts a
right value. If it only accepts 0.1 and 0.3, Set 0.2 to it may be meaningless.
@marco please correct me if I am wrong.
So the question should be, what we are going to do with different segments,
reflecting in UI?

@vivien, @steven, @hsinyi
Need your support in platform or feedback or confirmation.

Thank @tim, @marco, @randy for their opinions and suggestions on this slide.
