I just wanted to correct some misapprehensions here.
We already have Marionette tests running on desktop Firefox, look for
the "Mn" tests on all the debug builds in TBPL. And it's easy to run
Marionette tests on real devices, we have a set of Gaia UI tests that
are run on unagis, and are working to get them running on pandas. The
*only* kind of test which is limited to emulators are the WebAPI tests,
and those because they use functionality that is specific to the
emulator (for example, the ability to initiate an SMS via the emulator's
console). Marionette itself is not limited to B2G or to emulators.
I still agree that getting mochitests running on b2g desktop builds is
useful, however.
