Hi,

just an feature idea: (FirefoxOS)
In the old-fashioned way everybody is dialing phone numbers today.
But in the near future this could be changed.
Imagine you could dial a name (characters) instead to dial a 9-12 digit phone
number. I'm don't talking about vanity dialing.

How does it work?
Using DNS, using the DNS NAPTR resource record.
In a NAPTR record, contact information is encoded as a
URI (universal resource identifier), such a telephone number.
Therefore the phone number can be resolved over a simple DNS lookup.
i.e. you would like to dial the company ABC. Therefore dial “abc.tel”.
“abc.tel” will be resolved through a simple DNS lookup into +16046333174.

Today only the .tel top level domain support such DNS NAPTR resource record.
But there is no reason why not other top level domains could provide such NAPTR
resource record, too.

I guess it’s much easier to remember a name compare to a 9-12 digit dial
string.

Thanks
