Have you tried the Firefox OS Simulator plugin for Firefox? I think this
has a version of B2G Desktop which doesn't have this problem

Indeed, I don't see this problem in the Simulator. But the version of
B2G in the Simulator is (virtually) identical to the B2G nightlies from
the b2g18 branch. And its version of Gaia is pretty similar to Gaia's
v1-train (with some runtime customizations like disabling OOP to make
remote debugging possible).
dagteamct: perhaps you're building B2G from its "central" branch (i.e.
the trunk)? I'm not sure how much attention that branch has been
getting, as folks seem to still be pretty focused on b2g18. So I
wouldn't be surprised if there are some regressions on it. If you built
from central, you might try building from b2g18 instead.
