Hey B2G.

Last week I posted on the dev-gaia list a little interface demo and an associated YouTube video.

Mobile OSes have a difficult time multitasking, and I blame the interaction between the home button and the desktop. As such, I made a proof-of-concept without a desktop. The core of the interface is that the home button toggles an overlay. Every app has the full screen until the user presses the home button, a web browser then overlays atop the app. The app is still visible below! Every running app is a tab; close a tab, it stops running; close every tab and you end up with a "new tab screen". Very simple for the user, not jarring for the user, and provides maximum screen space for both OS and app.

See it in action on Youtube below:

(The overlay and multitasking stuff starts at 3:45, before that is lock screen and effects.)
