Hey,

Starting Monday May 6th, bugs will no longer be assigned by the triage team. What does this mean? Each developer will have to assign themselves on bug(s) they plan to work on during the week.

What are the advantages?
1 - As bugs are not assigned, everybody who wants to work on one is free to take it.
2 - Developers will not be overloaded by tons of bugs waiting for them.
3 - Non-owned bugs will have a chance to find an owner that will actively work on them and will be fixed sooner. 4 - Developers will have a chance to improve their knowledge by fixing bugs that are not in their usual area.
5 - This will help to improve fluidity in the bug fixing process.

If you own a bug and you are not actively working on it please release it.

If you need the Module Owner's help, or mentoring, or need to ask questions check this wiki:

Keep in mind that some bugs are part of defined milestones - they must be prioritized in the following order: tef+, leo+, tracking-b2g+

My suggestion to Engineering Managers is to schedule a weekly bug assignment meeting with their team in order to let them select the bugs they will fix during the week.

We all hope this new way of working will help the Firefox OS project to do things better.

Enjoy your freedom !

Cheers,
David
