I was also wondering the same for iPhone 3G. Old iPhones can run android
and they are totally unmaintained. Android is unusable and bloated on
those devices, so FxOS would be a perfect choice to bring back those old
iDevices. And the same for ipads.
I'm a newbie on the topic of porting FxOS to new devices, but I may help
if anyone wants to work on this topic.

Sorry; as far as I know, no one has ported Firefox OS to any model of
iPhone.
