I've just been doing some testing on the Hamachi device with 3 different
UK SIMs I have here.
I've also played it off against Unagi Mozilla RIL of various builds, HTC
Android 2.3 and Inari (also Mozril). Generally I can get 3G/HSPA data on
every device (with two exceptions of no data at all but that's a
different bug).
However with the Hamachi, with either the TCL 1.1.0 prerelease or the
m-c/Mozril build with two of the SIMs I could only get Edge data
connections.
Why does Hamachi have this incompatibility with these SIMs? What kind of
on-device testing are we getting with SIM combinations either locally or
with the hardware manufacturer? Do they test beyond the SIM and hardware
combination they are selling with?
