Thanks Josh, this clears up a couple of things. I'm now building with the v1.2 branch.
I had a quick related question: In the build docs[1], it says this: "To see the names of branches, you can cd to B2G/.repo/manifests and do "git branch -a". The branch name is the final token on the line, e.g. "v1-train" or "master". Example: remotes/origin/master remotes/origin/v1-train remotes/origin/v1.0.0 remotes/origin/v1.0.1" but cd B2G/.repo/manifests doesn't seem to work; it says it isn't a directory. Has this changed recently?
