Hi all,
RIL team has been discussing about API design for DSDS
(dual-SIM-dual-standby) on dev-webapi for a long time. The changes in
several APIs are going to be landed in v1.3... eventually :) However,
due to the very different behaviour between single-SIM and dual-SIM
scenarios, it's likely and reasonable to keep some APIs backward
compatible while some not.
Regarding privileged apps, RIL team is working closely with gaia team to
make sure the new APIs won't break anything. Bug dependency between gaia
and gecko being set, you can see the latest status on bugzilla. Also, to
minimize the possible impacts upon 3rd party apps and ecosystem, RIL
team has been communicating with Marketplace and our partners in advance
to make sure they realize the status and new design.
