I should be getting my phone in a couple of days and would want to build b2g
myself for it, where can I get the kernel from, google didn't help.
You don't need to build the kernel in order to make your own build.
First of all make sure your device is on a B02 image so that it has an
unlocked boot loader, you can find information about it here:

Then follow the standard procedure for building Firefox OS for the
'inari' device:

Then before flashing your build make sure you have the modified boot.img:

As always before doing any of this it would be best if you'd backed up
your partitions so that you can always revert to the vendor image your
phone shipped with in case something goes wrong.
