If we were able to build a standalone gecko+gaia b2g build, that could
allow us to:

* simplify updates
* distribute that build publicly without issue
* bypass a lot of device-specific builds, and have a single build that
worked across devices
* have a common build to reference when debugging issues on
non-reference devices
* more easily create a dogfooding program for the larger community

So... is it possible to make a standalone gecko+gaia b2g build?

As I understand it, the backup tarball affects the build.  Without
knowing how or why, it's hard to determine how to remove this
dependency.  Does anyone know?
