Hi,

The about:config is not working on Firefox OS because we don’t allow viewing
XUL or chrome-priviledged page on Firefox OS. In order to know the value of
some preference, I consistently enter a cycle of adding some log manually,
compiling, and flashing to device. Modifying a preference is another
time-wasting process. I have to pull the user preference from
/data/b2g/mozilla/{random string}/prefs.js, append the preference value I want,
push the prefs.js back to device, and reboot. Rebooting during the
testing/debugging process means we need to go through the environment setup
again.

Providing an equivalence of about:config on Firefox OS platform can save our
precious time and it’ll be easier to ask people/partners provide their runtime
settings while submitting a bug. Maybe we could do this by providing a shell
script (like the get_about_memory.py) or by integrating with the device panel
in App Manager [1].

Any thought?
