It is possible. I am not sure and cannot guarantee what will occur if the libauth.so is missing. Which device are you building for if you don't mind me asking?
It's worth a try, and you could edit the file: It's located in <project folder>/device/qcom/<device name>/extract-files.sh You can always revert the file by backing out of your change since it's in a git hub repo.
